Of the eight different kinds of bets that can be made in European Roulette, five of them are called ‘Inside Bets’ and are placed on either the numbers of the roulette table arranged in columns of twelve and rows of three, or, on the lines between the columns and rows.  Each different bet covers a different number or range of numbers.  The other three bets are called ‘Outside Bets’ and are placed in boxes directly outside of the number table.  Each box likewise covers a particular range of numbers.
